Jens Lekman
“An Argument With Myself”

New Jens Lekman song! Not sure how I feel about it yet—the frenetic melody and lyrics are definitely on the contentious side (with a bit of a “Graceland”-era Paul Simon vibe), but I guess that’s the whole point. This song stresses me out a little (arguments tend to have that effect), but I can’t wait to hear more new stuff from Jens.

twin shadow’s last tour for forget was announced today. check out the dates/locations on the image above. was fortunate enough be graced by mr. george lewis jr.’s presence at sxsw and it def a show that should not be missed.

Huzzah to this tour poster. It will be awesome to see Twin Shadow play as a full-on headliner (although they were the headliner in my heart at their last Seattle gig).

Good. Bad. Ugly.

Ennio Morricone. Looks like this could have been a Smiths or Morrissey album cover, no?

Yo La Tengo - “Periodically Double Or Triple”

1. I’m getting stoked for tonight’s Yo La Tengo show at the Showbox, 2. This video looks like it was a blast to make, 3. I could totally go for some cantaloupe melon right now, and 4. I have a ticket for sale!

Oh, and 5: Wish you were here, jhp.

I <3 Man Man and reeeeally wish I could see them tonight at Neumo’s, but alas, I have other plans. When I saw them play here a couple years ago, the first 15 minutes of the show instantly qualified for inclusion on my BEST SHOWS EVAR list. So, so good. See them live if you can.

Also: This video is cute (Fred Armisen plays a creep and an ice cream man serves bunnies in waffle cones, among other things). You should watch it.

Jens Lekman – “The End Of The World Is Bigger Than Love” - Stereogum

YES. Finally.
And in Jens’ own words:

It’s a song of hope. When love turns its back on you it’s nice to know there’s a world out there that doesn’t give a shit about your problems. That forces you to keep your head held high and move on. A world that is fragile and beautiful. Maybe it can sound cold to some of you, but let me make it clear that I believe in love, I just get so wrapped up in it sometimes that I need to put it into proportion. It’s something you have to do a lot when you’re Jens Lekman.

I love this song. This video is what I want my summer to look like (if it would just get here already).

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes - “Home”

yvynyl:

I bet these kids would be fun to hang out with.

themusicwagon:

Can you believe they’ve just released a video for this song? Don’t get me wrong, I’m still madly in love with this song, but it’s been out seemingly forever! I guess it took a while to build a time machine, travel back to 1971, steal a bunch of 8mm footage, and come back to edit it all together.

I kid! But this is exactly the type of video I’d expect from Ed Sharpe and his metal-attracted zeroes! And honestly, had I not seen modern cars in the background of some shots, I’d suspect that the footage actually was from 1971!
